Our colleague Arman wrote an article about the SAP-Spartacus Basic Training, which took place in the last week of February via Teams:
"Spartacus training was well paced with a good balance of class and homework exercises. The models were all explained and demonstrated clearly. Florian was always clear and concise on given topics.
Spartacus is a lean, Angular-based JavaScript storefront and talks to SAP Commerce Cloud exclusively through the Commerce REST APIs. Training started with explaining the requirement of having headless frontend architecture like Spartacus, which has many advantages comparing to jsp accelerator frontend. On the first day, we learned how to setup SAP Commerce Cloud with Spartacus. Also, CMS architecture considering page template, content slots and components and how to override and customize it using outlets and ConfigModule configurations. On the second day, we covered global configuration, routing and styling. I felt routing was very important and useful topic. On the third day, we learned how we can change page layouts, do internationalization using I18next and services to share data across components. On the last day, we learned concepts like Search engine optimization, RXJS framework and data binding. Being a newbie in frontend development, I found RXJS to be somewhat difficult and will need to practice more for this framework and Angular.
This training has given me a great push in learning Spartacus framework and knowing Angular functionalities. The training was very successful, interactive and I really enjoyed it. 😊"
